Project Goals
We are surrounded by heath care data and yet individually feel disconnected from our records and not empowered to take charge of our health. As a multidisciplinary group we proposed a solution with focused on freeing medical data from the confines of a particular doctor’s office or healthcare network, allowing patients, doctors, and third-parties access to data in ways that are currently not possible. Our solution focused on allowing for healthcare device integration into our system and providing a way to share with medical professionals, active management of health records and integrating social network to offer support and encouragement promoting healthy behaviors and connect with other similar patients.
Design Notes
- As a team we analyzed existing systems and their shortcomings
- We devised a strategy to ensure privacy and security, connecting with existing systems/structures (Google health), designed an interface, and planned the evaluation methods we would use to move forward on developing the product.
- The end result of the product was a presentation and written report
- I was responsible for visualizing the workflow and storyboard/scenario and assembling the presentation and report.

GREENR is a database portal site focused on providing a variety of reliable and salient documents and articles for a wide range of environmental topics. The main audience is undergrad and graduate students with a small fraction of additional users (librarians, professors and college prep high school students). The goal of the series of usability analysis is to understand how the different types of users search and browse for information and how the site can better serve their needs.
Design Notes
- As a team we have conducted and will conduct the following usability analysis techniques: Interaction Flow, Interviews, Personas and Scenarios, Comparative Analysis, Survey, Heuristic Evaluation, and Usability Testing.
- For each of the methods we compiled a comprehensive report highlighting the findings and the take away goals for improvements.

Project Goals
Understand the barriers preventing people from walking, and design an application/web-site that allows users to provide information that will ease or negate some of the barriers to walking and will subsequently result in users walking more frequently.
Designed a mobile application for the Android platform that will allow users to contribute to generating a walkable map. By recording their paths they can see how they are making an impact on the environment and also their wallet, while at the same time contributing to the database of walkable areas. It will also allow for users to search for walkable directions and paths for leisure, which they can save, rank and comment on. The Tag-It feature allows users to add certain types of real-time and contextual information to the maps for added benefit to walkers.
See the project website here : http://sites.google.com/site/walkitproject
Design Notes
- As a team we created, launched, analyzed the survey, did affinity diagramming.

Clients Goals
Get university employees/Students/Alumni to buy housing in the area. Highlighting midtown as a vibrant area to live, close to campus and culture events and venues.Design Notes
- Bands of color on edge create a rhythm to the layout and provide a loation for quick reference information.
- The boxes for each type od information and graphics are treated similarly and could be flexible to accommodate a range of information
- The map really highlighted the proximity of housing options to venues, not simple identifying them on a map
- The table made it easy to compare all of the different features of each/between each other. I worked with the writer determining the content for the table
- The client was very happy, increasing production and then doing a second printing

Personal Goals
For design to be flexible enough for different quantities of information and graphics that would be provided but consistent from page to page.Clients Goals
- A recruitment package that was flexible for incorporating different elements depending on the students interest
- Use existing logo and colors burgundy and cream as primary with the other university colors as secondary
- Wanted the pieces to feel special, individual attention and reflect the program
Design Notes
- The folder is simple nice heavy stock with the logo raised off of it as the dominant design element
- The presentation of the materials with in the folder was also important (I did not want the search piece which is not very tall to get lost in a pocket) so the search piece and business card have a notched location to hold them in place
- The search piece has the logo die cut from the front and caries the 4 concepts form the logo into the design as each year focuses on one of the four concepts
- The brochures and poster feature large images of students actually working or engaging in the subject of the piece (medicine, pharmacy ect). The program specializes in jumpstarting a student in that program and this is reflected in the imagery
- Colors used are part of the extended university Identity system and each program gets it s own color for easy identification (for the college staff) yet the burgundy of the program stayed dominate

- Work with existing University Identity standards, word mark, and tagline "world-class education in the real world"
Design Notes

- Photos highlighted individuals, then campus, then the university's place Detroit
- Shows a diversity of students and experiences available at the university
- Tested well in focus groups and its influences can be seen in the final campaign
